Hosted by the Messiah College Music Department Chairman William Stowman and produced by the Central PA Friends of Jazz, the 18th annual Central PA Jazz Camp is for resident or commuter students aged 12 to 21. The camp is 4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS and features a major concert on Friday evening with our guest artist/educator Sean Jones performing. There is no audition required to attend the camp, just a desire to learn the art of improvisation. Students of all instruments and voices are welcomed. Classes, performances and rehearsals will be held in the High Center at Messiah College and feature studies in jazz history, master classes, theory, jam sessions, ear training, and much more!
CPFJ is very pleased to have the internationally acclaimed trumpeter Sean Jones, head of the Jazz Department at Peabody Institute in Baltimore, and director of the Carnegie Hall National Youth Jazz Orchestra joining the faculty this year and we are looking forward to having our seventh Camp in the beautiful High Center at Messiah College.
Our thanks to the Olewine Family Trust for their generous underwriting of the Camp again this year, and to
The Kline Foundation, The Hall Foundation, and private donors for supplying scholarships to deserving students.
Please join these contributors in supporting our annual Camp!
